Active Learning At Its Best

Governance

The Learning Through Action Trust (LTAT) was established on 10 May 1991.

The founding members were Annette Cotterill, Peter Wood Cotterill, the late Margaret Kaye, Anne Reilly, Jenny Murphy, and Ken Rhodes.

LTAT is the successor to "Learning Through Action", founded by Annette Cotterill in 1983, which operated as an unincorporated service provider, sponsored by the former Berkshire County Council.

As well as delivering children's workshops, much on the same lines as LTAT does today, it provided training in Learning Through Action methodology for teachers on a one-year diploma course, who were on secondment from Berkshire and other Local Education Authorities, and from overseas (eg Japan, Gambia, New Zealand).

LTAT is a not-for-profit company, limited by guarantee, registered in England and Wales No: 2609387, and is a registered charity, No: 1014350.

Our registered office is: The LTA Centre, High Close School, Wiltshire Road, Wokingham, Berkshire RG40 1TT.

LTA Centre Manager: Narinder Marwaha

LTAT's audited Annual Financial Statements and the Annual Report of the Board of Director-Trustees is filed at Companies House and with the Charity Commission. Financial Year End 31st January.

Auditors: Messrs Welland Turnbull LLP, Chartered Accountants
Solicitors: Messrs Field Seymour Parkes
Bankers: CAF Bank Ltd and NatWest plc

All LTA personnel, employed, volunteer or freelance in contact with children or other vulnerable people have Enhanced Disclosures from the Criminal Records Bureau (CRB).

It is a requirement that all Director-Trustees, and "candidate" Director-Trustees prior to their appointment, have Enhanced Disclosures from the CRB.

See our Child Protection Policy for more details.

LTAT maintains fully comprehensive insurances, including Employer's, Public Liability and Director-Trustee Indemnity.
