THE GREAT NEWS! - 1:

Ufton Court Educational Trust has agreed to take over - from January 2012 - the delivery and management of all LTA's 'LIVING HISTORY' and KS1 & KS2 'well-being/PSHE' interactive workshop programmes, including the employment of our long-serving and popular lead facilitator, Richard Ousley (after 22 years with LTA). Delivery and management of LTA's KS3 & KS4 'well-being'/PSHE workshop programme and in-service and college workshops is to be transferred from January 2012 to JO BRYANT, who will be working also with MELISSA WALDRON - both with long experience of delivering LTA's workshops. Health and Safety Policy

Learning Through Action, as an employer, as a tenant, and in its work in schools and the wider community, is dedicated, as a matter of principle, to fulfilling its obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Regulations and all related legislation.

Premises:
All reasonable endeavours will be addressed towards minimising any potential source of danger to health inherent in premises over which we have control and the highest practical level of cleanliness and hygiene will be maintained.

Vehicles:
Drivers of LTA vehicles, and of personal vehicles used on LTA business, are required to be qualified, full driving licence holders, and to comply with all relevant aspects of the Highway Code. All drivers of and passengers in LTA vehicles and personal vehicles used on LTA business must wear a seat belt as required by law. LTA vehicles will be maintained to the highest standards.

Lifting of materials and artefacts:
All staff are advised to follow recommended practices for lifting and carrying. Any staff member, volunteer or freelance contract worker needing training in this respect should ask their immediate supervisor/manager for instruction. Supervisors/managers should initiate training for any member of staff, volunteer or freelance contract worker displaying a need for it.

Working in Schools and Other Venues:
Staff are required to comport themselves in a manner conducive to the safety of all, including the safety of pupils, students, colleagues and themselves, and to comply with the Health & Safety requirements of schools and other venues.

Smoking:
Staff and volunteers employed by or subcontracted by LTA are not permitted to smoke in or in the environs of LTA premises, LTA vehicles or any school or venue at which they are working or when they are representing LTA.
